The problem of crime, such as gangsters and the mafia, has long been considered a task. This artwork criticizes such wrong practices by twisting them. The word "Gangaroo" is a word that I created from Kangaroo and Gangster. Pronunciation of kangaroo and gangster rhymes with each other.
Starting from this language joke, I created this illustration logo with the theme 'What if Kangaroos are gangsters?'.
Illustrations of a kangaroo's skull with a cigar, gun, and a fedora on the head are the symbols considered as the possession of gangsters.
These are well-known symbols that people can immediately relate to the image of the gangsters. From this design, I reinterpreted the idea of a gangster, usually considered scary, into a funny-looking appearance because kangaroos take over gangsters' symbolized items. Instead, the illustration of a cute and familiar animal kangaroo, adds weight to the harsh reality. This work makes us reconsider our social perceptions of them, which change over time.
