Project 2: Context & Agency
I have experience living in several regions of Korea. From a young age, I was exposed to a variety of environments through frequent moving. I moved to a nearby area, and for that reason, I also transferred schools a lot. So for me, “home” exists split across different regions.
Living in many places has exposed me to unique characteristics, including subtle differences, even in geographically close areas. In the process, repeated environmental changes broadened my insight and taught me how to adapt to diverse groups. I also learned that although groups may be different, we humans all have something in common.
This is a book containing content about the various regions I have lived in for a long time, which I can call home. It will not include areas where you have lived overseas and will be limited to Korea, your country of origin. My personal experience of moving frequently within Korea enriches my understanding of home by highlighting the diversity and nuances within Korea. Focusing on a specific region within Korea will add depth to the story. These regions include 'Seoul', 'Daegu', 'Gumi, North Gyeongsang', 'Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang', and 'Ansan, Gyeonggi'.
